Turn Your Recipes Into the Grocery Order
Deciding what to cook is one job. Turning that into a grocery order across two or three stores is another. A muse can take both: you tell it what you want to eat this week, and it builds the carts at the right stores, flags substitutions and missing items, and places the delivery order once you approve.
What it does
You describe the meals: a couple of dinners for two, a favorite soup, a sandwich spread, whatever you are cooking. The muse turns each recipe into an ingredient list, then builds grocery carts at the stores you name, item by item. It tells you what got substituted and what is simply unavailable, so nothing is a surprise. When the carts are ready, you review the totals and approve, and the order goes out for delivery. People have run this end to end in one evening: recipes described, two store carts built with substitutions noted, order placed, bags at the door the same night.
How to use it
- Tell the muse the meals: "I want to cook Sinigang, a couple of easy Japanese dinners, and sandwiches with guacamole this week, for two people." Include drinks or snacks too.
- Name your stores or delivery app: "Use my DoorDash account, shop Jewel-Osco and H Mart." If you don't name one, ask the muse which stores carry the most of your list.
- Review the carts it builds. Check the substitutions and missing items, and swap anything you don't like.
- Approve the totals, including delivery fees and tips. The muse places the order and hands you the delivery tracking.
What you need
- A delivery app account (like DoorDash) connected to the muse, with your address saved
- Your recipe ideas, even rough ones; the muse fills in the ingredients
- A few minutes to review substitutions before approving
What to watch for
Substitutions are the whole game here. The muse flags them, but you know your kitchen, so swap anything that changes the dish. Missing items matter more than they look: one skipped spice can strand a recipe, so check the missing list and either accept the gap or send a second quick order. Delivery fees and tips add up across multiple stores, so compare the split-cart total against doing it all at one store. Perishables wait for no one: approve promptly so the order arrives while you still need it.
