Turn Off the Tracking on Your Smart TV Step by Step

確認済み 2026-10-23

Most smart TVs track what you watch and share viewing data by default, and the settings that stop it are buried in menus that differ by brand and model. A muse can read the official support pages for your exact TV and walk you through its settings menu, one change at a time, until the tracking is off.

What it does

You name the TV model. The muse looks it up on the manufacturer's official support pages, then gives you plain step by step instructions that use only the TV's built-in settings menu. The usual list covers four jobs: turn off ad tracking and viewing data sharing, stop videos from autoplaying on the home screen, remove or hide the preinstalled apps you never use, and clear the clutter that makes menus feel slow. For each change, the muse says what the setting does, gives the exact menu path for your model, and flags anything the change might affect. Nothing touches the TV's software, and nothing suggested could void a warranty.

How to use it

  1. Find your TV's exact model name or number. It is on a sticker on the back and in settings under device information.
  2. Tell the muse the model in plain words: "Use only the official support pages and the built-in settings. No firmware changes, nothing that voids the warranty."
  3. Work through one change at a time with the remote in your hand. Say so if a step does not match what you see, and let the muse adjust.
  4. Ask what each change might break before you confirm it, and skip any step you are unsure about. Skipping costs nothing.
  5. Restart the TV at the end and check that your normal apps and inputs still work.

What you need

  • The TV's brand and exact model name or number
  • The TV remote and a few quiet minutes in front of the set
  • A muse account

What to watch for

  • Menu names differ even between models from the same brand, so a path that worked on a neighbor's TV may not match yours. Work from your model, not a general video.
  • Turning off viewing data sharing can turn off some extras with it, like suggestions built from your history. The muse should name that trade before you switch it.
  • Some preinstalled apps can only be hidden, not removed. Hidden is fine.
  • If a step asks for anything beyond the settings menu, stop. The whole job can be done inside the menu, and that limit keeps it safe.
