Turn a Book Into a Chapter-by-Chapter Podcast

確認済み 2026-10-19

A muse can take a book you want to get through, work through it one chapter at a time, and turn each chapter into a short podcast episode with a written summary, collected on one page you can listen through in order.

What it does

Some books sit on the shelf because reading time is the first thing a busy week takes. Listening is easier to fit in: in the car, on a walk, while doing dishes. A muse can split a book you provide into its chapters, make a spoken episode for each one covering the main points and the parts worth remembering, plus a short written summary. The episodes and summaries sit together on one page, in chapter order, so you can listen straight through or jump to the chapter you need. This suits a work book you need to absorb before a project, a history book you keep meaning to finish, or a classic in the public domain that you would rather hear than read. You are not getting the book read word for word, just each chapter explained in audio form, at a pace you can keep up with.

How to use it

  1. Give the muse the book: upload the file if you have one, or name a public domain title it can work from.
  2. Say how you want it: "Make one episode per chapter. Keep each episode under fifteen minutes, cover the main points, and write a short summary for each chapter."
  3. Listen to the first episode before asking for the rest, and correct the tone or length if it is not right.
  4. Ask for the whole set once the first episode sounds good, and save the page where the episodes live.
  5. As you listen, ask follow-up questions about any chapter: "Go deeper on chapter four" gets you a longer take on just that part.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A book you own in file form, or a public domain book
  • Headphones and a free quarter hour

What to watch for

  • Use books you have the right to use this way: your own copy, or a work that is out of copyright.
  • A summary leaves things out by design, so for a book where the exact wording matters, read the key chapters yourself as well.
  • Names, quotes, and numbers can come out slightly wrong in a spoken summary; check anything you plan to repeat or cite.
  • If an episode feels rushed, ask for two shorter episodes for that chapter instead of one long one.
