Shop at Stores That Welcome Your Muse

Some big stores have a partner connection for your muse, so you can browse their products and complete a purchase through your muse instead of working through each store's website.

What it does

Not every store treats an agent the same way. Some block agents outright, and on those sites your muse can only research and hand you a link. Partner stores work differently. Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfair have partner connections with Muse, and on supported sites your muse can browse the products and complete the purchase with you. You describe what you want, with the brand, price limit, or size that matters, and the muse searches, lines up options, and prepares the checkout. Before anything is final, it shows you an approval card with the order details, and the purchase only goes through when you approve it. Payment runs through the payment services your muse already uses, which issue a one-time card number for the order, so the store never receives your real card number.

How to use it

1. Name the job and the limits in one message: "Find a coffee maker under $120 at a partner store, with a carafe that goes in the dishwasher."
2. Read the options the muse brings back, and ask why the first one is the pick before you choose.
3. Pick the item yourself, then read the approval card in full: item, size or color, delivery address, and total with delivery and tax.
4. Approve only when every line on the card is right.
5. Keep the order confirmation the store sends, since returns and delivery questions go through that store's normal rules.

What to watch for

• Partner does not mean every order can be finished inside your muse. On some stores, picking an item sends you to the store's own site for the final step, and that handoff is normal.
• The approval card is the last cheap moment to catch a mistake. A wrong size or an old address costs a return trip once the order ships.
• Stores outside the partner list may block your muse from buying at all. When that happens, take the research, open the link, and buy it yourself.
• Prices and stock move while an agent shops. If the total on the approval card differs from the price you saw in the options, stop and ask why before you approve.
