Send a Photo of the Care Label and Get the Symbols Explained

確認済み 2026-10-30

Care labels speak in small symbols instead of words, and guessing wrong can shrink or ruin a favorite piece of clothing. Send your muse a photo of the label and it explains each symbol in plain words, including whether the item can go in the dryer.

What it does

A care label packs a lot into a tiny strip: how hot the wash can be, whether bleach is safe, how the item should dry, and whether it needs a dry cleaner instead. The symbols look alike, and a dot or a line changes the meaning. Your muse can read the label in a photo, name each symbol one by one, and turn the whole label into plain instructions you can follow at the machine. You can ask about one worry directly, such as the dryer, and still get the rest explained so nothing else catches you out. It works for the label in front of you, on the clothes you already own, with no connection needed beyond the photo.

How to use it

  1. Find the care label, usually inside a side seam or at the back of the neck, and smooth it flat.
  2. Take a close photo in good light. The whole label should be sharp enough that you can read any small print yourself.
  3. Send the photo and ask: "Can I put this in the dryer? Explain the symbols one by one in plain words."
  4. Read the answer before you start the wash, and follow the plain instructions it gives you, step by step.
  5. If one symbol sounds uncertain, take a closer photo of just that part of the label and ask again about that symbol alone.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A phone that can take and send a photo
  • The garment itself, with its care label still attached

What to watch for

  • A blurry or shadowed photo can be misread. If the answer matters, retake the photo rather than guessing from a bad one.
  • Symbols vary a little between countries, and some brands add their own marks. When the muse flags a symbol it is unsure about, believe the flag, not a guess.
  • For a costly or delicate item, treat the explanation as a first read. Check the maker's own care page or ask a dry cleaner before you risk it.
  • The muse reads the label you photographed, not the fabric. If the label is missing or worn away, say so, and ask what can be told from the material instead.
