Read and Set Your Thermostat by Text

確認済み 2026-10-28

If your thermostat app is slow or hard to use, a muse can read and set the thermostat through a plain text conversation instead, reporting each room sensor as a simple list and changing the temperature without you opening the app at all.

What it does

Many thermostat apps are awkward to navigate, change their layout often, and bury simple readings behind unlabeled buttons. A muse connected to the thermostat gives you the same controls as a conversation. Ask for the temperature and you get back a list in a shape you set: each sensor named by the floor or room it sits in, with its reading, followed by a list of which rooms are occupied. Ask for a change and it makes it, in the same chat. Instructions can cover time as well as temperature. One statement can hold a temperature for a set period and ask the muse to check over the next few hours whether the upstairs has reached the target, reporting back when it has. The same text route works across different brands of smart lights, so one conversation runs gear that normally needs several apps.

How to use it

  1. Connect the thermostat account and say how you want readings shaped: "When I ask for the temperature, list each sensor by floor and name, then list which rooms are occupied."
  2. Start with a read, not a change: "What is the temperature in each room right now?"
  3. Make your first change a small one: "Set the downstairs to 70 for the next two hours."
  4. Add a check when it matters: "Check each hour and tell me when the upstairs reaches 70."
  5. Correct the format once if it drifts. Stated preferences hold across later conversations.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • A smart thermostat the muse can connect to, signed in through its secure sign-in flow
  • A plain statement of the list format you want readings in

What to watch for

  • Keep passwords out of chat. Sign in through the secure flow the muse offers, where it never sees the password itself.
  • Start with readings and small changes while you learn how your system responds. Heating and cooling lag behind the setting, so a room that has not moved yet is not proof the change failed.
  • Never hand over anything safety-related. Heat for a house with frozen-pipe risk, medical equipment, and alarms stay under your direct control.
  • The muse works the controls, you set the limits it works inside.
