Plan Your Day Through Outlook Calendar

Verified 2026-10-30

You can connect Outlook Calendar to your muse so it can read your Microsoft calendar, brief you on the day ahead, flag clashes, and suggest free meeting times.

What it does

A calendar on its own is a list of blocks. Connected, the muse reads the calendar in the Microsoft account you sign in with as a plan: what is next, what clashes, what needs preparation, and where the free time really is. Ask for the day in order, with who is on each invite and what each meeting is about. Ask it to check a new meeting time before you commit, so you do not say yes on a day that is already full. Ask for the week ahead and it can point out the heavy days and the back-to-back runs with no break. Paired with Outlook Mail from the same account, the briefing gets stronger, because the muse can pull the mail behind a meeting and tell you what it is actually about, not just what the invite title says.

How to use it

  1. Open the muse app and go to Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Select Connect next to Outlook Calendar, sign in with the Microsoft account that holds the calendar you live by, and read the permission screen before you approve it. A work account may need your IT admin to allow the connection first.
  3. Connect Outlook Mail from the same Microsoft account, so mail and calendar agree about who you are meeting and why.
  4. Set approvals so no invite or meeting update is sent without your tap.
  5. Test with a question you can check: ask what your first meeting tomorrow is. Compare the answer with your calendar.

What you need

  • A muse account, with access in the US, Canada, Japan, or Singapore
  • A Microsoft account with a calendar
  • Outlook Mail connected from the same account, for meeting preparation

What to watch for

  • The muse reads only the calendar you connected. A Google calendar, a shared calendar in another account, or a paper diary stays invisible unless you connect it too.
  • It cannot fix vague invites. A meeting titled sync with no agenda and no clear attendees is a meeting the muse cannot prepare you for, and neither can you.
  • Check the times it quotes against your calendar for the first week. A wrong time acted on fast is worse than a slow read you verified.
  • Connecting both Outlook Calendar and Google Calendar does not merge them into one view. Say which calendar you mean in each request.
