Never Let an ID Expire on You Again

Verified 2026-10-07

A passport expires and nobody tells you. A license renewal letter gets buried in junk mail. One conversation with a muse fixes that: give it your expiration dates once, and it warns you weeks before each one runs out.

What it does

The muse stores the dates you give it and remembers them. From then on, it keeps watch over your documents the way you watch your appointments. Weeks before each one expires, it reminds you, and it can explain what the renewal usually involves: the fee, whether you need new photos, whether the license renewal can be done online or needs an office visit. This works for anything with a date on it: passport, driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance cards, even a library card or a parking permit. The muse does not go digging for the dates. You hand them over, and it does the remembering.

How to use it

  1. Gather the expiration dates of the documents you care about. Read them off the cards, or pull them from your last renewal emails.
  2. Tell the muse in one message: "My passport expires in March 2028, my driver's license expires in August 2027, and my car registration renews every June." Give it the dates only, not the document numbers.
  3. Ask it to warn you early: "Remind me 90 days before each one expires, and tell me what the renewal takes."
  4. When a reminder arrives, act on it. The muse prepares, you decide.

What you need

  • The expiration dates, from the cards or your own records
  • A muse that keeps a memory of what you tell it

What to watch for

A muse that remembers your ID dates is holding your personal information, and it is normal if that feels strange. You can review, edit, or wipe what it remembers at any time, so check its memory page now and then and delete anything you no longer want it holding. Keep it to dates and reminders: the muse does not need document numbers, scans, or photos of your IDs to do this job. Renewal rules change by state and by year, so confirm the steps and fees on the official site before you rely on what the muse told you. And if a reminder ever fails to arrive, do not blame the muse for the expired license; open the memory page and confirm the date was saved.
