Keep Watching the Price After You Book the Trip

Flight and hotel prices keep moving after you pay, and a lower price can be yours to claim if the fare rules allow it. A muse can keep an eye on a trip you already booked and tell you when the price drops enough to turn into credit or a cheaper rebooking, with you approving every change.

What it does

You give the muse a booking that is already paid for: a flight confirmation, a hotel reservation, a rental car. On a schedule you set, it checks the current price for the same flight or the same room and compares it to what you paid. When the drop is big enough to matter, it shows you the math and drafts the claim or the rebook for your approval. One early user reported saving $600 this way on booked flights and hotels. It is the same instinct as checking prices before you buy, pointed at the booking you already made.

How to use it

1. Hand the muse the booking. Give it the confirmation code, the airline or hotel account it needs to check the live price, and the fare rules if you have them.
2. Set the schedule and the floor. "Check this booking every day. Only tell me about it if the saving clears $50 after fees."
3. Read the alert. The muse shows the old price, the new price, and what you would get back after any change or cancellation fees.
4. Say the word. Nothing gets claimed or rebooked without your approval, and you keep the final say on whether the hassle is worth it.

What you need

• The booking confirmation and any login the muse needs to see the live price
• A checking schedule, daily or a few times a week
• A few minutes to review each alert

What to watch for

Fare rules decide everything. Basic economy tickets and some partner bookings cannot be changed at all, and airline credits often expire. Make the muse show you the rule it is working under, not just the cheaper number. Prices also move in both directions, so a small drop can vanish inside fees; that is what the floor in step two is for. And keep the approval step. The muse watches the price around the clock, but it never touches your booking without you.
