Host Your Own Automation Server on Your Muse

確認済み 2026-10-26

A muse can install and run a free automation server on its own cloud computer, connect it to services like Gmail and Google Calendar, and give it a safe public address on your own domain.

What it does

The server is n8n, a free, open source tool. Think of it as a control panel where you connect services into small routines: when a new email arrives, save the attachment to Drive; every morning, read the calendar and send a summary. A muse already works on a cloud computer, so it can install n8n there instead of you renting one, at no extra cost. The muse can set the whole thing up in one go: connect several Google services through one sign-in, add a public address on your own domain, and put a login wall in front of the editor that lets exactly one person in. Each service is tested with real data afterward, not just linked and assumed.

How to use it

  1. Tell the muse what you want: "Install n8n on your computer and set it up as my automation server."
  2. Connect your accounts through the sign-in screens the muse walks you to. One Google sign-in can cover Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, and YouTube.
  3. Ask for proof, service by service: "Show me a real email, a real calendar event, and a real file through the new connection."
  4. Give it a public address only if your routines need one, through a secure tunnel on your own domain, with no open ports.
  5. Put a login wall in front of it, set your own password, and keep the allow list to your email alone.
  6. Start with one small routine, watch it run, and add more only when the first one holds up.

What you need

  • A muse account, and a phone or computer to approve sign-ins
  • A Google account, or whichever services your routines use
  • Your own domain name, only if you want a public address

What to watch for

  • The cloud computer restarts from time to time, and a restart can stop the server. Ask for an automatic restart check, and proof it works.
  • If part of the setup runs through a home computer, that computer has to stay on. If it sleeps, the public address sleeps with it.
  • A public address needs the login wall. Never leave the editor open to anyone who finds the link.
  • This suits personal routines. Do not run a business or other people's data on it until you have backups and support sorted out.
