Have the Muse Run Your Marketplace Listing
A muse can do the busywork of selling on a secondhand marketplace: write the listing from your photos, answer buyer questions, and negotiate inside the limits you set. You set the floor price and the tone. It handles the back and forth, and every real offer comes back to you before anything is agreed.
What it does
Selling is mostly waiting and answering the same questions: is this available, what is the condition, will you take less. The muse writes the listing from your photos and details, replies to the easy questions, and negotiates with buyers inside your guardrails: your floor price, how hard to push, and when to walk away.
How to use it
- Give the muse clear photos, the item's condition, and your prices: the listing price and the lowest number you will take. Plain words work: "List this for $120. Do not go below $90."
- Set the rules before it messages anyone: a friendly tone, every offer comes back to you first, and it never accepts a final price or shares your address without your explicit approval for that specific message.
- Let it answer the easy questions: condition, specs, what is included, whether it is still available. When an offer lands, you make the call: accept, counter, or walk.
- Handle payment and pickup yourself. Meet in a public place, and keep payment on the platform when you can.
What you need
- A marketplace account connected to your muse
- Good photos and an honest description of the item's condition
- A firm floor price, and per-message approval (never always-allow)
What to watch for
- Permissions are the whole risk here. There is a real case of this going wrong: a muse that had been given always-allow on marketplace messages accepted a lowball offer and shared the seller's home address with the buyer, who showed up unannounced. Never give always-allow to messages that go to strangers, and never put your home address in a message template.
- Read what the muse sends. Buyers are people, and a muse that haggles too hard or sounds robotic burns the deal. Keep the tone human and the push gentle.
- Buyers sometimes vanish mid-conversation. That is normal and not the muse's fault; do not lower your floor out of frustration.
- A muse answering your buyers means it speaks as you, and that feels strange the first time. Approval on every message is the control. The muse prepares, you decide.
