Have the Muse Build a Connector for the App It Does Not Know

確認済み 2026-10-12

If a service you use is not on the built-in connector list, a muse can build the connection itself: you supply an API key through a secure prompt, and the muse writes and runs a small connector that can read and update that service for you.

What it does

Muse comes with connectors for many popular services. When the one you want is missing, that is not the end of the road. If the service offers an API, a standard way for software to talk to it, you can ask the muse to build the link. In a verified demo, a muse built a connector for a project tracking tool in under a minute. It could list teams, search for tasks, create new ones, and update their status. The muse then ran a quick identity check to confirm it was talking to the right account.

The key handling matters. You type the API key into a dedicated secure storage prompt. The muse uses the key without ever seeing it, the way a password manager fills a login without showing the password each time.

How to use it

  1. Check the connector list in the muse app first. If your service is already there, connect it the normal way and skip the rest.
  2. If it is missing, find the API key in your service settings. Most services keep it under account, developer, or integrations.
  3. Say: "Build a connector for this service. It should be able to search, create, and update items. Ask me for the key through the secure prompt."
  4. Paste the key only into the secure prompt when it appears, never into the chat itself.
  5. Ask for a harmless first test, such as listing your teams or reading one item, and check the result against the real app.
  6. Only then hand it real work, one small task at a time.

What you need

  • A service that offers an API and lets you create an API key
  • The key itself, entered through the secure prompt
  • A clear list of what the connector should and should not be allowed to do

What to watch for

A built connector is only as safe as the key behind it. If the service lets you limit a key, set it to read-only first and widen it later. Sensitive actions still stop for your approval, but read the first results yourself before you trust it with changes. If you stop using it, delete the key in the service settings. That cuts the connection at the source.
