Get Your Lab Results Explained Through Function Health

You can connect a Function Health account to your muse so it reads your lab results and the clinician-reviewed summaries behind them, explains each result in plain words, and track what changed between rounds of testing.

What it does

Lab results usually arrive as rows of numbers with ranges most people cannot read. The muse works from your real results instead of general advice. Ask how a result compares with its optimal range and it explains which results sit inside it, which sit outside, and what each one means in plain words. It can compare your latest round with the round before and say what improved, what moved the wrong way, and what stayed the same. It can build a plan toward one clear goal using your own numbers, such as a training plan that knows your recovery markers. Its best use ends in an appointment: a list of questions for your doctor, with the numbers behind each one.

How to use it

1. Open your Function account first and confirm your latest lab results are there. A connected account with no results has nothing to read.
2. In your muse settings, find the Function Health connector, sign in with the account that holds your results, and read the permission screen before you grant access.
3. Start with one read-only question: how one result compares with its optimal range. Check it against your Function summary before asking for more.
4. Name one goal in a single sentence, then ask for a comparison across rounds or a plan built on your numbers.
5. Before a doctor visit, ask for the three questions you should ask, in order, with the numbers behind each.

What to watch for

• The muse is not a doctor. It explains results and helps you prepare. It cannot diagnose or prescribe, and cannot tell you to start or stop a treatment. Anything that worries you goes to a clinician.
• Check every number that matters against your original Function summary. A chat summary can misread a number or a unit.
• Results from other labs and other doctors are invisible to it.
• Lab results are among the most private data you own. Check the setting that lets chats help improve the models before you ask health questions, and disconnect it any time in settings. The muse reads and prepares, you and your doctor decide.
