Get Only the School News That Matters for Your Kids

Verified 2026-10-16

Your muse can read each school digest that lands in your inbox, pull out only the items that apply to your kids, and send you nothing at all on days when there is nothing you need to know.

What it does

Schools send a lot. One digest can hold lunch menus, district news, fundraiser notes, and, buried in the middle, a permission slip deadline or a schedule change for one of your children. When kids are at different schools, the pile doubles or triples.

A muse can open each digest, read the full text, and sort it against a simple list you give it: your kids, their schools, their grades, and the kinds of items you act on. Forms, deadlines, schedule changes, and items that name your child's class stay in. General news and items for other grades drop out. You get a short morning recap with only your items, or no message at all when a digest holds nothing for your family.

How to use it

  1. Connect the inbox where the school digests arrive, or forward one digest to the muse so it can learn the format.
  2. Give it the sorting list in plain words: each child's name, school, and grade, plus the item types you want, such as forms, deadlines, and schedule changes.
  3. Set the routine: "Read each new school digest in the morning. Send me one recap with only the items for my kids. If there is nothing for us, send nothing."
  4. Read the recap and handle the items. For anything with a deadline, ask the muse to add it to your calendar as well.
  5. Update the list when a child changes school or grade, so the sorting stays right.

What you need

  • The muse app, signed in
  • The school digests arriving in an inbox the muse can read, or forwarded to it
  • A short list of your kids, their schools, and the item types you care about

What to watch for

Sorting depends on the list you gave it. If a digest uses a nickname, a room number, or a teacher name the muse does not know belongs to your child, an item can be missed. Add those details when you spot them. Keep approvals on for anything the muse would send or submit for school; a recap is safe to automate, a signed form is yours to approve. It is normal if handing an agent your inbox feels strange at first. Start with read only access, review what it remembers, and edit or wipe that memory any time.
