Get a Replacement Part Sent From a Photo of What Broke

Verified 2026-10-19

When a door, hinge, or panel on furniture you already own breaks, a muse can take your photo of the damage, find the original order in your email, contact customer support with the part number, and arrange for a replacement part to be sent to you.

What it does

Replacement parts are often free or cheap, but getting one means proving what you bought and naming the exact part. Most people give up at the order number stage. A muse can read the part or article number from your photo, search your email for the original order and match the two, then open a support chat with the details already filled in: order number, part number, and a clear description of the damage. It asks for the replacement to be shipped, keeps the chat record, and tells you when the part is on its way and when it should arrive.

How to use it

  1. Take a clear photo of the broken part, including any printed number on it or on the item label.
  2. Send the photo to the muse and name the store or maker, if you remember it.
  3. Ask it to find the original order in your email and match the order number to the part.
  4. Review the support message it drafts, with the order and part details, before it is sent.
  5. Approve any charge if the part is not covered, and confirm the delivery address yourself.
  6. Save the shipping notice and check the replacement fits before you throw the broken part away.

What you need

  • A muse connected to the email where your order confirmations live
  • A clear photo of the damage and of any label or number on the item
  • The name of the store or maker, if you have it

What to watch for

  • A part number read from a blurry photo can point to the wrong piece, so check the number against the label yourself before the request goes in.
  • Older items may have no parts left; in that case ask the muse for the closest matching part and check the fit before paying.
  • Keep the support chat and order details until the replacement arrives and works.
