Get a Heads-Up When Big News Could Move a Stock You Own

Verified 2026-10-28

A muse can watch major news against the stocks you own and message you when a big event, such as an election, a rate decision, or an earnings report, could affect one of them, with a short breakdown of how it connects.

What it does

Most market news is noise for any one person. The piece that matters is tied to something you hold, and that link is easy to miss when news breaks at night. A muse that knows your holdings can make that link for you. It watches for major events, checks them against your list, and only speaks up when there is a real connection. The message names the event, the stock, and why the two are connected, such as a company earning most of its money in a country that just held an election.

How to use it

  1. Give the muse a short list of the stocks you own. Sold positions come off the day you sell them.
  2. Say what counts as big: "Message me for elections, rate decisions, and earnings reports that touch a stock on my list. Skip routine price moves."
  3. Set a cap: "No more than one message a day unless something is urgent."
  4. Ask for the link in every message: "Name the event, the stock, and how the two connect, in plain words."
  5. Read a message as a prompt to check, not as an order. Look at the price and the original news report yourself before you act.

What you need

  • A muse account that can run standing watches and message you
  • A current list of your holdings
  • A clear rule for what counts as news worth waking you for

What to watch for

  • A heads-up explains a connection. It does not predict which way a price will go, and a plausible link is not a reason to buy or sell.
  • It is normal if an agent messaging you about the news unprompted feels strange at first. You set this watch up, and you can narrow it, pause it, or turn it off at any time.
  • Stale lists make strange messages. If the muse alerts you about a stock you sold months ago, the list needs updating, and that update is your job.
  • Big events can be misread in the first hours. Check any alert against a news source you trust.
