Get a Heads-Up Before Your Night Out

Verified 2026-10-16

A muse can look at the dinner and show already on your calendar and send a short heads-up before you leave, covering the weather for the walk between places, what parking nearby will cost, and one useful note about the event itself.

What it does

A night out has small decisions hidden inside it: a jacket or not, drive or ride, which garage, when to leave. If your calendar is connected, the muse can read where you are going and when, check the forecast for those hours, and look up parking near both places before you ask. It can send the note hours ahead without a prompt on the day, because the standing order is already set. It is normal if help you did not ask for sounds strange at first. You set the standing order once, and you can turn it off at any time.

How to use it

  1. Connect your calendar and check that the event shows both places, not just the first one: "Dinner at 7, show at 9 across town."
  2. Give the standing order: "Before any evening out on my calendar, check the weather for the hours we will be walking, and tell me if I need a layer or an umbrella."
  3. Add the travel piece: "Look up parking near both places the day before, with prices, and compare it with a ride both ways."
  4. Ask for one event note, no more: "Add one thing worth knowing about the show or the place, and skip the rest."
  5. Set the timing: "Send it by mid-afternoon, early enough that I can still change the plan."

What you need

  • A muse account
  • Your calendar connected, with the real places and times on the event
  • A way for the muse to message you that you will actually see that afternoon

What to watch for

The heads-up is only as good as the calendar entry. If the event just says "dinner" with no place, there is no walk to check and no parking to price, so put the venues on the event. Forecasts change during the day, so treat a mid-afternoon note as a nudge to look once more before you leave, not as a promise. Parking prices move on busy nights too, so use the figure as a guide, not as a quote. And keep the order narrow: weather, parking, one note. Ten facts before a night out trains you to ignore the one that mattered.
