Get a Draft Fix Ready When Your App Reports an Error

確認済み 2026-10-20

If you have a small app out in the world, a muse can watch its error reports for you, look into the code when a new error appears, and have a draft fix waiting for your review before you would have noticed the problem yourself.

What it does

Many small apps already send crash and error reports to a monitoring service that records what went wrong on a user's phone or computer. Connect that service and your code repository, and the muse watches for new errors as they surface. When one appears, it reads the error report, goes into the code, works out what is likely causing it, and drafts a fix. You come to the problem with the first draft already written. You can read the fix, change it yourself, or send it back with notes and ask for a revised version. The draft is the deliverable. Releasing a new version of the app stays a separate step that you control.

How to use it

  1. Connect the error monitoring service your app already uses, and connect the code repository where the app lives.
  2. Give the standing job in plain words: "When a new error comes in, read the report, find the likely cause in the code, and draft a fix. Do not release anything."
  3. Read the first few drafts closely. Check that the fix matches the error and does not change behavior the error report never mentioned.
  4. Send corrections back in plain words and tell it to remember the reasoning, so later drafts follow the same rules.
  5. Test any fix the way you normally test changes before it goes into a release, then ship the release yourself through your usual process.

What you need

  • An app that reports crashes and errors to a monitoring service
  • That monitoring service connected to your muse
  • Your code repository connected, with the muse able to read the code and draft changes

What to watch for

  • A draft fix is a head start, not a proven repair. An error report shows where something broke, not always why, and a confident draft can still fix the wrong thing. Test before you release, every time.
  • Keep release access in your own hands: the muse drafts and revises fixes, and publishing a new app version stays a step it does not do.
  • Start with one app and read every draft until the pattern earns more trust.
