Generate and Edit Video, Images, and Audio Through Runway

You can connect Runway to your muse to generate and edit video, images, and audio from plain descriptions, and to check your credit balance and recent work, without opening the Runway app.

What it does

Runway is a media generation service. Connected, your muse can have it make a video from a description, build a multi-shot video, or make a product marketing video. Editing is part of the same connection: an existing video can be edited, expanded, upscaled, converted to HDR, stripped of its background, or localized into an ad for another market. Images work the same way: generate one, upscale it, or remove its background. Audio covers music, sound effects, and speech. You can also run a saved workflow, and upload source files for it to work from. Account reads run without asking: the plan and credit balance, recent work, and the status of a generation still running. Every media tool asks for your approval on every call, because generation spends credits.

How to use it

1. Check the connection in your muse. If Runway is not connected, the muse gives you a connect link. Sign in once through that link. Never paste a password into the chat.
2. Check the balance before a big job: "Show my Runway plan and credits."
3. Describe one piece of media at a time: what happens, how long it runs, and what it should feel like. Approve the generation call when shown to you.
4. Wait for the task, then ask for its status. Generation finishes as a background job, so the muse checks the task before it calls anything done.
5. For an edit, name the source file and the one change you want. Approve, review the result, then ask for the next change.

What to watch for

• Generation costs credits every time. A vague description can burn a balance on versions you will not use, so write the brief before you approve the first call.
• If a generation seems to fail or times out, do not repeat it right away. Runway may have completed it. Check the task status or recent work first.
• Generated faces, hands, and words on screen can come out wrong. Watch the finished piece at full size before you publish it.
• The rights for music, clips, or likenesses you bring in from elsewhere stay yours to clear. The muse prepares, you decide.
