Find the Recording and Transcript for a Zoom Meeting
You can connect Zoom to your muse so it finds the recording, transcript, and other assets for a past meeting, instead of you digging through your Zoom account meeting by meeting.
What it does
After a call, the useful record is spread out: a recording in one place, a transcript in another, and shared files somewhere else. Connected, the muse searches your Zoom meetings, lists the recordings for the meeting you name, and pulls the assets tied to that meeting, including its transcript and recording resources when they exist. Ask for the call with a named person on a given date and it finds that meeting first, then brings back what was kept from it. That gives you one place to check what was said, save the recording details, or read the transcript before a follow-up. The muse reads these assets. It does not join live meetings, and it cannot create a recording for a call that was never recorded.
How to use it
- Connect Zoom in your muse settings and sign in with the account that hosted or holds the meeting.
- Name the meeting by its title, the people on it, or its date, and ask the muse to find its recording.
- Check the meeting it brings back against the date and guests you remember before opening anything.
- Ask for the transcript or the other assets from that same meeting, and read the part you need.
- If the muse says an asset is missing, check whether the meeting was recorded at all and whether it was held on the account you connected.
What you need
- A muse account
- A Zoom account connected to your muse
- A past meeting on that account that was recorded, if you want a recording or transcript from it
- The meeting title, date, or guests, so the right call can be found
What to watch for
- Access follows the account. A guest on a call usually cannot open the host's private recording, so a missing recording often means it belongs to someone else's account.
- Some summaries and assets need a separate Zoom license. One part of Zoom can work while another is limited, and the rest of the connection still works.
- A timed-out or failed lookup does not prove the recording is gone. Check the meeting itself before asking again or assuming the worst.
- Recordings hold private conversation. It is normal if connecting them sounds strange. You can disconnect Zoom at any time, and you stay in charge of what gets shared onward.
