Draft the Airline Reimbursement Request From Your Receipt Screenshots
After a long flight delay forces you to pay for a ride home, a meal, or a hotel yourself, a muse can turn your receipt screenshots and flight details into a courteous, firm reimbursement request ready to paste into the airline's own form.
What it does
Airlines often reimburse reasonable extra costs after a serious delay, but they do not make it easy. Many do not take requests by email at all, so the request has to go into a web form, in the right words, with the right facts attached. You hand the muse screenshots of your receipts and the basic facts about the flights, and it drafts the request: what happened, how long the delay was, what you paid for and why, and what you are asking back, item by item. You paste it in and submit it yourself, so the final send is always yours.
How to use it
- Save screenshots of every receipt from the delay: rides, meals, a hotel if you needed one.
- Give the muse the flight numbers, dates, scheduled and actual arrival times, and the receipts, and say: "Draft a reimbursement request for these costs. Courteous, firm, item by item. Do not submit anything."
- Read the draft against your receipts. Check every amount, date, and flight number. A wrong flight number can sink a valid claim.
- Ask where this airline takes requests. If it is a web form, paste the draft there yourself and attach the receipt files it asks for.
- Keep the confirmation the form gives you. If no answer comes in the time the airline states, send the same draft again as a follow-up.
What you need
- Receipts for the extra costs, as screenshots, photos, or files
- Your flight details and booking reference
- A muse account, and a few minutes to check the draft before you paste it
What to watch for
- This is for money you already spent because of the delay. It is different from delay compensation, which follows its own rules. You can ask for both, but keep the two requests separate.
- Airlines set their own limits on what counts as reasonable. A luxury hotel after a three-hour delay may come back refused.
- The draft can bury an important detail, such as the airline only accepting a web form. Read the whole reply, not just the draft. And never invent a cost: if a receipt is lost, say so instead of guessing.
