Check Your Flight's Live Status Through FlightAware

Verified 2026-10-31

You can ask your muse for a flight's live status through FlightAware, including scheduled, estimated, and actual times, gate changes, delays, and where the plane is now, in your own local time.

What it does

FlightAware tracks flights as they happen, not as they were planned. Ask about a flight by its number and date and the muse reads that exact leg: when it is set to leave, when it is now expected to take off, when it actually landed, and which gates it uses at each end. Ask where the plane is and it reads the latest position. It can also read an airport: current delays, weather, arriving and departing flights, and nearby airports if you need another way out. For flights more than two days away, it reads the published schedule. It can also give delay and cancellation predictions, labeled as predictions.

How to use it

  1. Name the flight and the date: "What is happening with United 123 on Friday?" The date is the day the flight leaves, where it leaves from.
  2. If a code like UA123 is unclear, the muse checks the full airline code first, so you read the right flight, not another airline's with the same number.
  3. Ask for the parts you care about: gate, delay, landing time, or the plane's position.
  4. Read the times as three different things. Scheduled is the plan, estimated is the best guess, and actual is what happened. They are not interchangeable.
  5. For a booked trip, ask the muse to keep checking and tell you when something material changes, such as a long delay, a late gate change, or a confirmed cancellation.

What you need

  • A muse account
  • The flight number and the departure date, or the airport you want checked
  • No FlightAware account and no API key. This connection is already set up, so there is nothing to connect.

What to watch for

  • A flight can show a canceled flag while its status text says something else. The muse treats that as unconfirmed, checks the exact dated flight again, and looks for the airline or airport to agree before calling it canceled. Do not rebook on a flag alone.
  • Some aircraft are blocked from public tracking. When that happens the muse says so plainly instead of guessing.
  • This connection does not cover baggage, airline policies, terminal maps, booking, or customer service. For those, check the airline.
  • Times move. A gate or a delay you read in the morning can change by the afternoon, so check again close to departure.
