Check Your Balances and Spending Through Money Forward ME
Your muse can read the household money you track in Money Forward ME, so you can ask about balances, holdings, and spending by category in plain words instead of opening the app and adding things up yourself.
What it does
Money Forward ME is a household finance service used in Japan. It gathers the bank, card, securities, and e-money accounts you link inside its own app into one place. Once connected, it reads that gathered picture. Ask for balances and it lists what each linked account holds. Ask about holdings and it covers what you own across deposits, securities, and points. Spending works two ways: monthly totals grouped by household category for the shape of a month, or individual income and spending entries when a charge needs a closer look. You can name a narrow date range and get an answer drawn only from that range. The connection is read only. Your muse cannot move money, edit a transaction, change a category, or link a new account. Those jobs stay in the Money Forward ME app, with you.
How to use it
- Link your banks, cards, and other accounts inside the Money Forward ME app first. Your muse reads what is linked there and links nothing itself.
- Connect your muse using the connect link it gives you. Never share bank sign-in details in chat.
- Start with a check you can confirm: "What are my account balances?" and compare them with the app.
- Ask for a month by category: "Show my household spending by category for last month."
- When a total looks off, ask for the individual entries behind it for those dates.
What you need
- A muse account
- A Money Forward ME account
- Accounts linked inside the Money Forward ME app
What to watch for
- Figures reflect the last time Money Forward ME synced with your institutions, so they can lag your bank. A balance from this morning may not be in yet.
- A missing account or field is unknown, not zero. If an account is not linked or has not synced, the total is partial, and your muse should say which accounts and dates a figure covers.
- Amounts keep their own currency. Totals in different currencies are reported separately, never added into one number.
- Accounts are named in words, with masked last digits only when two accounts look alike. Full account numbers never appear.
- Read only means read only. If an answer suggests a change, you make it yourself in the app. The muse prepares, you decide.
