Book the Car Inspection You Keep Putting Off

Verified 2026-10-22

A yearly car inspection is a small job that is easy to forget until the sticker is out of date and the appointment has become urgent. A muse can take the whole errand in one line: book the inspection, put it on your calendar, and remind you when to leave on the day.

What it does

You tell the muse the car needs its inspection and give it the details it needs: the car, the area you want the work done in, and the days that suit you. It finds an inspection station or garage that can do the work, books the slot, and adds the appointment to your calendar with the address attached. On the day itself it sends a departure alert timed to the drive, so you leave with time to spare instead of finding the reminder after the slot has passed. One short request covers the booking, the calendar entry, and the reminder, which are the three places this errand usually falls apart.

How to use it

  1. Check the date on your current inspection sticker and start before the last week, while stations still have open slots.
  2. Tell the muse in one line: "Book this car's yearly inspection near home, mornings this week if you can."
  3. Share what it needs to book: the car make, model, and year, and a phone number the station can confirm to.
  4. Review the booking it brings back: station, address, date, time, and what it costs. Approve it before treating it as set.
  5. Ask for the calendar entry and a leave-by alert on the day, timed from your address to the station.

What you need

  • The muse app, with your calendar connected
  • The car details and the month your current inspection runs out
  • A phone number the station can use for confirmation

What to watch for

  • Stations fill up at the end of the month. Booking early in the month is the difference between a choice of times and the last slot in town.
  • Check what the inspection covers where you live. Some places test emissions as well as safety items, and a car that fails needs a repair and a retest, not just a new sticker.
  • Bring the papers the station asks for, usually your registration and insurance card. The muse can list them in the calendar entry so they are in the car before you leave.
  • The muse books and reminds, you make the final call on the station and the time.
