Book, Change, and Cancel Restaurant Tables Through OpenTable
You can connect OpenTable to your muse to check live table availability, book a table for 1 to 20 people, move a booking, or cancel it, all from one chat.
What it does
OpenTable holds live availability for restaurants that list on it. Connected, your muse finds a restaurant by name, cuisine, or price in a city, then checks real openings around the time you want, searching about two and a half hours forward by default. It can narrow the search to one seating type, such as bar, counter, or outdoor seating. When you pick a slot, it locks and books it in one step, with any special requests you gave. The same connection moves a confirmed booking to a fresh slot, reads back a reservation, and cancels one you no longer need. Restaurants also list special experiences, which the muse can find, check, and book the same way. A booking only counts when the result says the reservation is confirmed. A confirmation number alone is not proof.
How to use it
- Connect OpenTable in your muse. The first use asks for one-time consent in chat before any results come back.
- Name the restaurant, city, date and time, and party size: "Check this restaurant on Saturday at 7:30 for four people."
- Read the openings it returns and pick one slot.
- Give the diner name, email, and phone number for the booking. The muse never guesses these, so have them ready.
- Review the exact restaurant, time, and party size before approving the booking.
- To change a booking, ask for a new time first, then approve the move. To cancel, say which reservation you mean.
What you need
- A muse account
- An OpenTable connection, approved once in chat
- The diner name, email, and phone number for each booking
- A party of 1 to 20 people
What to watch for
- Groups over 20 cannot book this way. Arrange a large party with the restaurant directly, and never split a big group across smaller tables to get around the limit.
- Some slots need a card, a deposit, or prepayment to hold. Those cannot finish inside the connector, so the booking continues on the restaurant booking page instead.
- A reservation made somewhere else may not show up here. If the muse cannot open it, manage it on OpenTable or with the restaurant.
- If a change or cancellation result is unclear, check the reservation before trying again. Repeating a booking can create two tables for the same night. The muse prepares, you decide.
