Audit Your Post Archive and Find the Work Missing From Your Master File

確認済み 2026-10-18

Writers and creators who post their work over months often keep a master file that quietly falls behind. Your muse can read through your full post history, compare it piece by piece against your master file, and hand you the list of pieces posted but never saved, so the collection becomes complete again.

What it does

The gap builds up normally. A poem, a short piece, or a photo set gets posted on a busy day and never copied into the master document. After a year of posting, nobody can say what is missing without reading everything twice. On a large archive, the comparison can surface a surprising number of pieces that never made it into the file. The output is simple: a list of the missing pieces, with dates, ready to copy back into the master file in order. The same check works for essays, recipes, or song lyrics: any body of work that lives in a feed and is kept in a file.

How to use it

  1. Decide which file is the master copy and where your post history lives: an archive, an export, or the account itself.
  2. Give your muse access to both. An exported archive works well and keeps the job self-contained.
  3. Ask for a comparison only, no editing yet: every posted piece checked against the master file, and a list of anything missing from it.
  4. Review the list. Some posts will be drafts, fragments, or reposts already saved under a different title, and you decide which ones count.
  5. Copy the confirmed missing pieces into the master file, in date order, and save a backup of the updated file.
  6. Repeat the audit on a schedule, monthly or quarterly, so the gap stays small.

What you need

  • A Muse account
  • Access to your post history or a platform archive export
  • Your master file, in a document or folder the muse can read

What to watch for

  • Similar titles cause false matches both ways. A piece saved under a shortened title can look missing, and two different pieces with the same title can look like one. Spot-check the list before you copy anything.
  • The audit reads a lot of your history. Use an export where you can, and limit access to the account and file the job needs.
  • The muse prepares the list, you decide what belongs in the master file. Fragments and near-duplicates are a judgment call, and they stay your call.
