Add Phone Calling to Your Muse Through a Custom Connector

Verified 2026-10-16

A muse can build its own connector to an outside phone calling service, save it, and reuse it in later conversations to place real calls, then bring back a transcript and recording of what was said.

What it does

Some jobs cannot be finished on a website. A business may only answer certain questions by phone, like whether a place has seating, outlets, or open hours that differ from the listing. With a calling service connected, the muse can place the call, ask your questions, and report who answered, what was confirmed, and what stayed unanswered. The muse can write the connector itself, take the service key through its secure Connect card instead of chat, and save the connector for reuse in later conversations. Each call can return a transcript and recording of what was said. The muse prepares and dials; you approve the call before it happens.

How to use it

  1. Create an account with a phone calling service that offers a developer connection, and find your account key on its account page.
  2. Ask the muse to build a custom connector to that service and to request your key through its secure credential flow. Never paste a key into the chat.
  3. Enter the key on the Connect card when it appears, then ask for a read-only first test, such as a balance check, and confirm the result matches your account page.
  4. For your first real call, give the business name, the published phone number, your questions, and a short time limit, and approve the call before it is placed.
  5. Read the transcript afterward and separate confirmed answers from open questions before you act on them.

What you need

  • A muse account.
  • An account and key with a phone calling service that a custom connector can reach.
  • A small balance with that service if it charges per minute.
  • Approval left on, so no call goes out without your say.

What to watch for

A connector card appearing does not prove the connection works. The balance check is the proof, so do not skip it. In a new conversation, ask the muse to find the saved connector and repeat the balance check rather than building a second one. Calls can land in voicemail or automated menus, and a completed call is not the same as an answered question, which is why the transcript matters. The service may also ring your own phone to verify you or patch you in, so keep your phone nearby on the first calls.
