Add an Event to Your Calendar from a Photo of a Flyer

Verified 2026-10-15

When you see an event you want to remember on a flyer, a poster, or a post, you do not have to type the details in yourself: send a muse a photo or screenshot of it, and it reads the date, time, and place off the image and adds the event to your calendar.

What it does

The details that matter are usually printed right on the flyer: the name of the event, the day and date, the start time, and the venue. Typing them into a calendar by hand is the step where most events get lost, because the moment passes and the flyer is gone. A muse can read the image instead. Send the photo or screenshot, and it pulls out the event name, date, time, and location, creates the calendar entry, and confirms back what it added. It works for the poster in a shop window, the concert flyer a friend sent you, or a screenshot of an event post you do not want to scroll back for.

How to use it

  1. Take a clear photo of the flyer, or screenshot the post, with the date and time readable.
  2. Send it to the muse and say which calendar to put it on if you keep more than one.
  3. Read the confirmation it sends back. Check the date, the year, and the start time against the flyer yourself.
  4. Ask it to add anything the flyer does not show, such as a reminder the day before or the ticket link, while the entry is open.
  5. If the photo is blurry or cropped, retake it rather than guessing. A clean image gives a correct entry.

What you need

  • A photo or screenshot where the event details are legible
  • A calendar the muse can write to
  • A minute to check the confirmation against the flyer

What to watch for

Printed dates are where mistakes happen. A flyer can use a day and date that do not match, leave off the year, or show a time with no time zone for an event in another town. Always compare the created entry with the flyer once, especially the year. If you send the same flyer twice, you can end up with the event on your calendar twice, so check for a duplicate before sending again. And a calendar entry is not a ticket: if the event needs booking, ask the muse to note that in the entry so the reminder does not arrive after it sells out.
